Cranchi
50 Mediterranee
2001–11
The largest Cranchi ever built, the 50 Mediterranee further enhances the Cranchi reputation for engineering excellence and quality construction. This is a beaujpgully styled yacht, finely finished and designed with many practical features. Like all Cranchi models, the Mediterranee rides on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate beam and prop pockets to reduce draft requirements. The floorplan includes three staterooms—similar-size competitors generally have only two—with the master suite forward and two guest cabins aft, one with a double and the other with single berths. There are two heads in this layout, both rather small, and a curved leather settee wraps around an adjustable table in the salon. The high-gloss cherry woodwork is meticulously finished. Aft in the cockpit, the sun pad opens to reveal a garage for a tender; when opened, an electric windlass can launch and retrieve the tender on a small ramp. Additional features include a retractable gangway, cockpit galley with grill, an easily accessed engine room, superb helm position, and bow thruster. Volvo 480hp diesels cruise in the mid 20s (30+ top), and Volvo 715hp diesels cruise at 30 knots.
