Cranchi 33 Endurance
In a sea of expensive 30-something sportcruisers, the Cranchi 33 Endurance stands apart for her sleek Italian styling and innovative deck layout. Indeed, it’s hard to ignore the Cranchi’s unique center helm position and offset radar mast, and how many 33-footers have a tender garage built into the transom? The garage has pros and cons, of course—it consumes a lot of deck space (which limits cockpit seating), and while it’s a great convenience to have a tender available, it can’t exceed 4 feet, 6 inches in length and still fit in the garage. The center helm, however, is refreshingly different, and the sculpted dash is a real eye-catcher. Below, the cherrywood interior provides a traditional contrast to the Cranchi’s avant-garde cockpit. The compact midcabin layout is arranged with a convertible U-shaped dinette/V-berth forward, portside galley, and a standup head with shower. Note that instead of the usual express-cruiser radar arch, the Endurance has a sleek mast. A cockpit wet bar, teak cockpit sole, and aft sun pad are standard. On the downside, engine access is difficult and storage space is at a premium. Twin 285hp Volvo sterndrives cruise the Endurance at 30 knots and deliver a top speed of about 40 knots.
