39 Endurance

1997–2003

Cranchi 39 Endurance
The Cranchi 39 Endurance has the distinction of having been one of only a few Euro-cruisers of her era to be built on a high-performance stepped hull. Aside from that, the other notable features of the 39 Endurance are her large cockpit, and the storage compartment under that aft sun pad designed to stow an inflatable tender. With so much of the Cranchi’s length given over to the cockpit, it’s not surprising that the interior is smaller than other express cruisers in her class. It’s also unusually arranged—a dinette is forward rather than the traditional stateroom, and the only sleeping quarters are aft in the private mid-cabin. All of this adds up to a superb day boat—a design that will appeal to those placing more emphasis on fun in the sun than on extended cruising. Highlights include an exceptional helm layout, anchor/windlass locker with fender storage, excellent handling, and a foredeck sun pad. On the downside, engine room access is difficult and the galley is very small. A well-built boat offered at a surprisingly affordable price, twin 285hp Volvo diesel sterndrives cruise the Cranchi 30 at close to 30 knots (low-to-mid 30s wide open).
