450 Voyager
1999–2006
The Carver 450 Voyager is a downsized version of the 530 Voyager introduced the previous year. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with prop pockets to level the engines, Carver sold a lot of these yachts and used models continue to enjoy great popularity on the brokerage market. Entering through curved sliding glass doors, the upscale cherrywood interior of the Voyager is as innovative as it is functional. Rather than placing the galley, dinette, and lower helm forward of the salon as it is in most pilothouse boats, only the lower helm and dinette are elevated in the 450 with the galley located in the hallway to port. This layout allows for a wet bar forward in the salon as well as an unusually large galley with granite counters, hardwood flooring, and numerous storage drawers and cabinets. The amidships master stateroom has a walkaround queen berth and private head with stall shower, and the forward guest stateroom also has a walkaround queen berth and private access to the day head/shower. Note the sliding deck door at the lower helm. The engine room is accessed from the cockpit lazarette. Cummins 450hp diesels cruise at 18–20 knots (low 20s top).
