2757 Montego; 530 Montego
1986–93
She may not be much to look at, but Carver got it right with the 2757 Montego (called the Carver 530 Montego in 1991–92 and 300 Montego in 1993), a contemporary twin-engine cruiser that became one of the best-selling boats in her class. For a 27-footer, the Montego is a big boat thanks to a wide 10-foot beam and an elevated foredeck. There are accommodations for four below, two in the small aft cabin and two forward when the circular dinette is converted. A full-service galley with built-in microwave, 12V/110V refrigerator, and two-burner stove is to port. A standup dressing area is amidships in the entryway to the aft cabin, and privacy curtains are provided for both sleeping areas. A transom seat is standard in the cockpit along with aft-facing jump seats, removable carpet, side-panel storage, and a transom gate to the swim platform. A walk-thru windshield provides bow access. In 1990, the Montego’s original swim platform was replaced with a more stylish reverse transom platform. A bow pulpit and foredeck cushions were standard. No lightweight, twin 205hp V-6 sterndrive engines cruise the Carver Montego at 22–24 knots.
