Expedition style yacht Chagos was expertly hand-crafted in America and built upon a strong and reliable steel hull. Her original owners custom-built this 2013 95' Ocean Voyager for the specific purpose of serving as their center of operations as they chased world record game fish on Africa's West Coast and beyond. Her dependable hull design is based off of a proven commercial fishing boat design which offers an appreciated economical fuel range, low maintenance, high reliability and utmost comfort traveling in a variety of sea conditions.
Measuring 95’ she is remarkably easy to handle for a skillful owner/operator, experienced couple or small yachting crew. Every facet of Chagos' design, outfitting and furnishing was planned with ease of maintenance being top of mind. The onboard ship systems are redundant and accessible while the interior features a no-frills design with a modern, fashionable feel. Her highly versatile and clean layout allows Chagos to fulfill her mothership job description doing so with style, luxury and the safety you want on long trips.
She features an extremely voluminous salon and dining area as well as a professional-grade galley with stainless steel appliances. Her belowdecks layout features three well-appointed guest cabins, three heads and a spacious laundry room. A fourth crew stateroom is also below, currently set up with 4 bunk beds. Located on the main deck you'll find a second crew stateroom, lounge and head. Finally, the captain's cabin is is conveniently located up top behind the pilothouse with a head and outside shower.
Like any good sportfishing mothership, Chagos is ready and fully outfitted to take you fishing anywhere as she comes equipped with a custom built 19' flats fishing boat plus additional space for smaller tenders and yacht toys of all shapes and sizes. She also comes equipped with a Palfinger “knuckle” style commercial crane capable of launching the custom-built flats fishing boat off of either side of the ship. Powering this extraordinary sportfish mothership are Cummins NT855 6 cylinder 350 hp @1800 RPM water cooled via heat exchanger/ wet exhaust, mechanical engines with engine room and pilot house mechanical gauges.
