Mike Scalisi grew up in Weymouth Massachusetts in the boat yard still owned by his family today. Boating is very much in his blood.
After graduating college from University of Rhode Island with a degree in Marine Affairs and Marine Resource Development, Mike packed up shop and moved down to Ft. Lauderdale. He also had a 100 Ton USCG Captains License so upon arrival he found work quickly. He started out washing boats for Allied Marine to get his feet wet and his career blossomed from there.
Mike took a job as a mate on a 100’ Westship which also traveled with a classic 46’ Merritt. They spent six months traveling the Caribbean and hit virtually every island from St. Thomas to the Grenadines. After that they fished for three months in the Bahamas competing in the Bahama Billfish Championships. Mike went on to run a few private sportfish vessels before accepting a position as the Fleet Captain for Lazzara Yachts. Mike was responsible for all new factory deliveries, captain and crew orientations, offshore closings, brokerage fleet maintenance and more. After five years it was time to take the next step and Mike accepted a position as a yacht broker with Marine Max. His new boat brand specialties were Hatteras and Cabo Yachts but also dealt with brokerage vessels of all shapes and sizes.
In 2012 Mike went on to become the number one Cabo salesman in the country. HMY is now proud to have Mike as part of our expert team. His knowledge, passion and dedication to his customers is well known throughout the industry. He enjoys spending time with his wife Nicole and three daughters. You may also see him in fishing tournaments or on the water around S. Florida aboard his classically restored 28’ Mako “NADICOLE”.
