Martinique 36-38

1990–93

Sunseeker Yachts Martinique 36-38
Introduced to the North American market in 1990 as the Martinique 36, Sunseeker added an integrated transom and a new fiberglass radar arch (replacing the original stainless steel arch) in 1992 when they reintroduced her as the Martinique 38. Like all Sunseeker products, she’s an extremely well-finished yacht with impeccable detailing and top-quality components throughout. Built on a narrow deep-V hull with cored hullsides, the Martinique’s most alluring feature is her expansive, Med-style cockpit with its wraparound lounge that converts into a huge sun pad. The Martinique’s elegant interior is arranged with staterooms fore and aft (each with a privacy door), and the only possible complaint one might offer is the absence of a separate stall shower in the head. Notable features include a beaujpgul burlwood instrument panel, excellent storage, a high-style wraparound windshield, wide side decks, and a hydraulically activated engine room hatch in the cockpit. Among several gas or diesel sterndrive options, twin 230hp Volvo Duoprop diesels cruise the 38 Martinique in the mid 20s and top out at close to 35 knots.
