Aggressive styling and quality construction characterize the Pershing 45, a purebred Italian sportboat with the sort of attention to detail few other builders can match. This level of quality costs money, however, and the 45 is not an inexpensive boat. Built on a narrow, high-tech hull with a solid fiberglass bottom and prop pockets, the aft-cabin accommodation plan of the Pershing 45 is unique in a boat of this type. Accessed from a removable cushion in the cockpit lounge, this is a surprisingly roomy cabin for guests with twin single berths, an enclosed head with a stall shower, and good headroom. Forward of the cockpit, the elegant salon is accented with high-gloss cherry cabinetry and luxurious amenities. A privacy door separates the master stateroom from the salon, and the galley is fitted with expensive appliances and a hardwood floor. On deck, the space-age helm is a work of art. A table stored under the cockpit sole can be deployed at the touch of a button, and the extended swim platform can stow a tender. Additional features include a cockpit entertainment center with grill, hydraulic gangway, bow thruster, and a topside galley opposite the helm. Twin 610-hp MANs reach a top speed of close to 35 knots.
