Blending modernity and style, the Pershing 43 is a pure-bred Italian sportboat with the built-in quality one expects in a Pershing product. There are several features of the 43 worthy of comment, from her retractable soft top to the life raft storage compartment in the cockpit sole. Nothing, however, surpasses the appeal of her beaujpgul Italian-style interior with its efficient two-stateroom layout and meticulous fit and finish. The master stateroom is surprisingly spacious for a 43-footer, and the companionway steps are flanked by a guest stateroom to port and a day head to starboard. Pullout stools allow seating for six around the cherry dinette table. Note that both staterooms have solid doors rather than the privacy curtains found in so many express yachts. In the cockpit, protective side windows extend well aft to reduce wind and spray. Six people can sit around the cocktail table, while four more can relax on the aft sunlounge. On the downside, the passerelle doesn't retract so it’s always in the way. The Pershings large engine room is unusual in a European yacht. MAN 630-hp diesels cruise in the high 20s and top out at 32–33 knots.
