68 Convertible
With a whopping 21'6" beam, the Hatteras 68 Convertible is more than just a big 68-footer—she’s gargantuan. From the salon to the galley to the staterooms below, the 68’s massive beam provides each living area with more usable living space and storage than anything in her class. Built on a solid fiberglass semi-V hull, deep propeller tunnels conceal an innovative trim-tab arrangement designed to control running angles more efficiently than transom-mounted tabs. Stepping inside through pneumatic sliding doors, the vast salon with its high-gloss cherry joinery, flat-screen TV, and huge U-shaped leather sofa takes convertible luxury to the highest level. There are four staterooms and four heads below including an enormous full-beam master with king bed, walk-in closet, and built-in dressers. The 68 Convertible’s huge 192 square-foot cockpit is the largest of any boat in her class, and the mezzanine deck has modular components allowing the owner to have the freezer, icebox or baitwell positioned to his preference. An open flybridge with wraparound seating forward of the console was standard and an enclosed bridge was optional was optional. Cat C-32 1,820hp diesels cruise at 27–28 knots (30+ top).
