Hatteras Yachts 65 Motor Yacht
With her bold styling and spacious accommodations, the Hatteras 65 Motor Yacht took cruising luxury to the next level when she was introduced in 1988. Heavily built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide 18'2" beam and shallow keel, the original galley-up interior of the Hatteras 65 included four staterooms and heads on the lower level with separate engine rooms. In 1991, an updated layout with a full-width engine room featured an amidships VIP suite with queen bed. In 1992, the standard floorplan was updated with queen berths in two of the three guest staterooms and rearranged master suite with his-and-her bathroom. A bulkhead separates the galley and dinette from the salon, and the small aft deck is suitable for line handling. Lacking side decks, the widebody deckhouse of the 65 Motor Yacht is extravagant in size and came with a choice of teak or light ash woodwork. Topside, the enormous flybridge features an aft-raking windshield and U-shaped lounge seating. Detroit 870hp 12V71 diesels cruise at 16–17 knots. Later models with 1,075hp 12V92s cruise at 18–19 knots (20+ knots top). The Hatteras 70 Cockpit Motor Yacht is the same boat with a cockpit.
