6300 Raised Pilothouse

Introduced in 2000, the sleek styling of the Hatteras 6300 Pilothouse reflected the growing popularity of European motor yachts in the American market first seen in the mid 1990s. Built on a modified-V hull with a wide 18'3" beam, prop pockets, and a relatively deep keel, the 6300 is no lightweight compared with other yachts her size. While many Eurostyle pilothouse yachts have both the galley and dinette on the pilothouse level, the galley in the 6300 is forward on the main deck level. With no obstructing bulkheads, visibility from the lower helm is excellent in all directions. The afterdeck is sheltered by the fully extended flybridge, and a hatch in the sole provides access to the spacious engine room as well as the huge lazarette (or optional twin-berth crew quarters) below. Note that there is no bridge access from the afterdeck; the only entry is from the pilothouse. Also, the side decks are very narrow. The flybridge itself is best described as massive with entertaining space for a small crowd. A good performer for such a heavy boat, Cat 1,400hp 3412 diesels cruise the Hatteras 6300 at 23–24 knots (high 20s top).
