Hatteras Yachts 58 Yacht Fisherman
The Hatteras 58 Yacht Fisherman is basically a Hatteras 53 Motor Yacht with a 5-foot cockpit extension. She enjoyed a long and very successful production run throughout the 1970s, and used models remained popular for many years after the last hull was built in 1980. Inside, the galley-down layout is the same as the 53 Motor Yacht. The salon and wheelhouse are completely open with no dividing wall. Next to the centerline helm are stairs leading below to the galley and dinette area. Forward of the galley is a stateroom with over/under berths and en suite head. Aft of the galley is a hallway which passes between port and starboard engine rooms, and then to the port guest stateroom with twin lower berths and adjacent head with stall shower. Further aft is the master stateroom with twin berths with private head with stall shower. The aft deck came standard with wing doors for wind and spray protection. Updates in 1975 included the addition of stall showers in the aft guest and forward head compartments and an optional queen bed in the master stateroom. In 1978, the flybridge was restyled, and in 1980 fuel capacity was increased to over 1,000 gallons. Detroit 8V71TI 435hp diesels cruise at 12–14 knots.
