58 Tri-Cabin Motor Yacht

Hatteras Yachts 58 Tri-Cabin Motor Yacht
Flagship of the Hatteras fleet back in 1971, the 58 Triple Cabin Motor Yacht (TCMY) was for several years the next step up from the company’s hugely popular 53 Motor Yacht. Built on a stretched 53 MY hull with single chines and a long keel, the 58 Triple Cabin originally featured an expansive afterdeck protected by wing doors and extended side windshields. Originally, the lower helm was separated from the aft deck by a fixed bulkhead. This pilothouse/semi-enclosed aft deck arrangement was revised in 1975 when the afterdeck was fully enclosed, converting it into a second salon area with a small aft deck for line handling. Either way, the main salon is three steps down from the pilothouse, and both galley and dinette are forward on the lower level. All three heads boast separate stall showers, and the master stateroom was offered with twin single berths or an optional double berth. Topside, the old-fashioned flybridge is arranged with the helm forward and guest seating port and starboard. Standard Detroit 8V71Ns cruise at 12–13 knots. Larger 12V71N diesels cruise at 15–16 knots with a top speed of just under 20 knots.
