58 Cockpit Motor Yacht

Often confused with the more popular 58 Yacht Fisherman, the Hatteras 58 Cockpit Motor Yacht can be idenjpgied by her full-width salon and lack of side decks. She’s built on a stretched version of the original Hatteras 53 MY hull with moderate beam and a shallow keel. With her enlarged salon dimensions, the 58 Cockpit MY offered an optional galley-up, four-stateroom floorplan—which the 58 Yacht Fisherman never offered—in addition to the standard (and far more popular) galley-down, three-stateroom layout. Teak paneling and cabinetry are used throughout the interior, and both floorplans are arranged with one guest stateroom aft of the engine rooms. Note that a privacy door divides the private wheelhouse from the salon. Bridge access is via a ladder in the wheelhouse only since the aft deck is too small for a ladder. Additional features include a very spacious master stateroom with walk-in closets, separate walk-in engine rooms (once a Hatteras trademark), foredeck bench seating, port and starboard deck doors, and a roomy flybridge with space for a dinghy. Standard Detroit 550hp 8V92 diesels cruise the Hatteras 58 Cockpit MY at 15–16 knots (18 knots top).
