Hatteras Yachts
54 Convertible
2002–12
Introduced in 2002, the Hatteras 54 was a dramatic departure from earlier Hatteras convertible designs. Aside from her sleek “new-look” styling, the 54 was the first Hatteras convertible to ride on the company’s then new convex hull form with cored hullsides, shallow keel, and propeller pockets to reduce shaft angles. Below deck, the tasteful interior reflects the practical layout and meticulous finish common to all late-model Hatteras yachts. Three staterooms are situated on the lower level (V-berths are optional in the bow stateroom), and Hatteras made maximum use of space by extending both the master and second guest stateroom under the salon floor. Each room has its own climate control and entertainment center, and the master stateroom includes a 15-inch flat-screen TV. With nearly 150 square feet of space, the cockpit is up to the demands of any hardcore angler. Topside, the flybridge is designed with a pair of Murray chairs and an optional electronically operated console. A fast ride, the Hatteras 54 will cruise at 30 knots with 1,400hp Caterpillar engines (mid 30s top). With 1,550hp Cats, she’ll reach a top speed of close to 40 knots.
