54 Convertible

1991–98

Hatteras Yachts 54 Convertible
The Hatteras 54 Convertible replaced the popular 55 Convertible in the Hatteras fleet in 1991. A distinctive boat with the aggressive profile common to all Hatteras convertibles of her era, the 54 is heavily built on a modified-V hull with a wide 17'4" beam and a relatively deep keel. Her three-stateroom interior features a diagonal galley forward to port in the salon with a built-in dinette opposite, an innovative layout that opens up the salon and adds considerable living and entertaining space. Forward and down four steps are three staterooms arranged off a central passageway. The master stateroom is to port with a walkaround queen berth and private head with shower. Across from the master is a guest stateroom with upper/lower berths and entrance to the day head with stall shower. Forward is the bow stateroom with queen berth or upper/lower bunks. A washer/dryer located in the companionway hall adjacent to the guest stateroom. Additional features include oak interior joiner work, walk-in engine room, and 150 square-foot cockpit with bait freezer and tackle center. Detroit 1,080hp diesels (or 1,200hp MANs) cruise at 25 knots (28–29 knots top). Later models with 1,250hp 3412 Cats cruise at 28 knots (low 30s top).
