46 Convertible

An updated version of the original Hatteras 46 Convertible (1974–81), the “Series II” version of this classic sportfishing yacht is nearly identical in appearance to her predecessor but a much-improved boat in several respects. Instead of the solid fiberglass hull of the original 46, the Series II version rides on a beefed-up hull with balsa coring in the hullsides and extra transverse frames in the bottom. (The keel was also shortened to improve handling and reduce wetted surface.) In other upgrades, a sliding door replaced the original hinged salon door, and fuel capacity was increased to 710 gallons. The interior layouts were also revised in the Series II. The standard two-stateroom floorplan features a lower galley arrangement that’s open to the salon, while the deckhouse galley configuration provides an expansive salon-galley area plus a third stateroom. Either layout offers a forward master stateroom and port guest stateroom with upper/lower berths. A tackle center with sink, in-deck fish box, and transom door were standard in the cockpit.
