Grand Banks Yachts
46 Motor Yacht
1993 Only?
The Grand Banks 46 Motor Yacht is a modified version of the GB 46 Classic. Instead of the Classic’s full walkaround decks and small cockpit, the Motor Yacht has an elevated afterdeck, a larger aft cabin, and no cockpit. One of the most appealing features of the 46 MY is her large afterdeck which is fully enclosed by railings. While it’s not designed to store a dinghy, it does provide a spacious platform for lounging, dining, or sunbathing. There were two floorplan choices for the 46 MY: the standard three-stateroom, galley-up layout, or an alternate (and equally popular) two-stateroom arrangement with the galley down. Sliding doors in the salon provide easy access to the side decks, and large cabin windows provide excellent helm visibility. Additional features include a handcrafted teak interior, space for a washer/dryer, a fold-down mast, bow pulpit and a big engine room. Standard power for many years was a pair of 135hp Lehman diesels which will cruise economically at 8–9 knots. Later models with 375hp Cats cruise at 13–14 knots. At an 8-knot cruising speed, the range exceeds 750 nautical miles.
