Grand Banks Yachts 41 Heritage EU
The 41 Heritage EU (Europa) is one of the new-generation Grand Banks yachts designed to replace the classic Grand Banks 42 that was retired from production in 2005. While the styling is unmistakably Grand Banks, the Heritage is a completely different boat below the waterline where Zeus pod drives delivers the power and a new (for Grand Banks) modified-V hull provides the ride. The result is a boat the will cruise in the teens and reach a top speed of 22-24 knots. The interior of the 41 Heritage EU is similar to earlier Europa models with the extended salon housing an L-shaped dinette with settee opposite, a large U-shaped galley forward to port, and the helm to starboard. The master stateroom features a queen island berth, and twin single berths in the guest stateroom convert to a double. The teak joinery in any Grand Banks yacht is as good as it gets, period. Because pod drives require less engine room space than conventional inboards, the area under the salon is used for a utility/storage room reached through a gas-assist hatch in the salon floor. Another hatch (with stairway) in the cockpit sole provides access to the engines. Cruise at 15–16 knots with 425hp Cummins diesels.
