28 Bahia Mar

A popular model with Bertram enthusiasts, the 28 Bahia Mar shares the same beamy deep-V hull as Bertram’s 28 Flybridge Cruiser and Sport fisherman models. In her day the Bahia Mar was a stylish boat, and her low-profile deckhouse and wraparound windshield reflect distinctive mid 1980s European styling influences. Equally at home as an offshore fisherman or pocket cruiser, her low cockpit freeboard significantly improves her fishability. (Note that helm visibility can be an issue because of the slanted and curved windshield.) The original raised engine boxes were eliminated in the 1986 models in favor of a flush cockpit deck, however service access to the engines is very good in both configurations. The well-appointed cabin includes a convertible dinette/V-berth forward, a full galley with refrigerator and stove, and a roomy standup head with shower. A centerline windshield vent, two opening cabin ports, and rod holders were standard. A good open-water performer (but often a wet ride), standard 260hp MerCruiser gas engines cruise the Bahia Mar at 20–22 knots.
