“If the intention of the Magellano 66 was to bridge the gap between so called ‘serious’ trawlers from the likes of Grand Banks and Fleming, and the more avant-garde trawlers from the high volume production builders, then Azimut has succeeded brilliantly.”
–Motorboat & Yachting Magazine (UK)
EDITOR NOTES: A trawler with contemporary styling, the Magallano features what Azimut calls a “dual-mode hull,” with double chines, a vertical bow, and generous forward volume. On the main deck, a single-level space with large sliding doors keeps the living areas simple, open and panoramic. The lower deck houses a full-beam master suite, two VIP cabins, and a fourth cabin that can be configured as a pantry. Washer and dryer are easily accessible from the passageway that leads to the cabins. Twin Volvo 800hp D13 V-drive diesels provide a cruising speed of 18–19 knots (low 20s top). The cruising range is nearly 1,000 nautical miles at nine knots.
