Azimut Yachts
Atlantis 38
2012–15
One of the smallest Azimut models in recent years, the Atlantis 38 is a sophisticated twin-stateroom cruiser whose Italian design and upscale accommodations have much in common with Azimut’s larger yachts. Protected by a fiberglass hardtop with manual sliding roof in fabric and stainless steel, the cockpit layout features a sturdy dinette for five people that converts to a sun pad, portside chaise lounge, and wet bar aft of the helm. Below deck, the Atlantis features two en suite cabins, a nicely integrated galley, and one full head. (Note the glass panel above the galley area.) While the forward stateroom is roomy enough, the aft cabin is a tighter fit with good headroom at the entrance door but far less over the berth. Both cabins have panoramic windows—a sign of the times in modern yacht design. Teak decks and a bow thruster were popular options, and the extended swim platform can carry a small tender. The entire cockpit sole lifts on a hydraulic ram for access to the engine compartment. Twin 300hp Volvo D4 diesel I/Os with joystick controls cruise the Atlantis 38 at 28–30 knots (mid 30s top).
