Azimut Yachts
80 Carat
2002–08
An Italian blend of style, speed and comfort, the Azimut 80 Carat is one of the most successful production yachts her size ever developed. She is an open and largely informal yacht with highly detailed cherry bulkheads and cabinetry. The aft deck opens into a spacious and impeccably styled salon with facing leather settees, recessed overhead lighting, and luxurious furnishings. A formal dining area is forward, opposite the narrow galley, and there are four staterooms and heads on the lower level including a full-beam master with walk-in closet and en suite bath with bidet and two sinks. The bow VIP stateroom has a queen berth, and the two guest staterooms have single berths. Twin garages in the transom of the Azimut 80 pushed the crew quarters forward of the engine room which explains why the staterooms are a bit smaller than one expects in an 80-foot yacht. Note the alternating-tread wood stairs to the flybridge from the galley. The engine room is reached from the crew quarters or swim platform, and V-drives allow the motors to be set well aft in the hull. Topside, the flybridge is a wide-open entertainment platform with wet bar, barbecue, and seating for ten. MTU 1,500hp diesels cruise at 25–26 knots (30+ knots top).
