72 Flybridge

2016–20

Azimut Yachts 72 Flybridge
An Italian beauty blending high-tech construction with spirited performance, the Azimut 72 is only slightly larger than the Azimut 70 Flybridge (2010–15) but is said to have as much as 25 percent more internal volume. The 72’s very spacious interior was achieved by using vacuum-infused fiberglass build for the hull, deck and deckhouse, a process that reduces weight and increases headroom throughout the yacht. The added volume isn’t limited to just the interior—the huge superstructure results in a gigantic, full-beam flybridge that runs along almost half the 72’s length. The main deck is on a single level with the galley forward and the salon seating area offering nearly 140 square feet of space. Note the wide side window in the galley. Visibility from the lower helm is excellent, and the side-deck access door is a thoughtful touch. Below deck, the 72 accommodates guests and crew with a total of 8 berths and four staterooms with crew accommodations. The 72’s construction features carbon fiber applied to the superstructure, fly deck, roll bar and hardtop, an Azimut first. Twin 1,400hp MAN engines cruise at 25–26 knots (30-plus top).
