Azimut Yachts
70 Sea Jet
1996–2002
Those drawn to the sweeping lines of Italian motor yachts will find much to admire in the Azimut 70 Sea Jet. Built on a high-performance hull with prop pockets to level the engines, the engine room is aft—an unusual configuration in a yacht this size. The Sea Jet was offered with either three or four stateroom interiors. Entering from twin stainless steel sliding doors, the Sea Jet’s spacious and flowing interior is a blend of soft curves, high gloss cherry joinery and facing C-shaped leather sofas. The galley—forward of the salon—features a dishwasher, marble counters, and entrance door to the starboard deck. In the salon’s aft corner is a curved stairway leading to the master suite with king berth, built-in vanities, and en suite bath with two sinks. Reached from the pilothouse, the VIP stateroom has a queen berth, and both guest staterooms have side-by-side berths. Note the laundry center aft of the VIP cabin. Crew quarters are at the bow, accessed from the foredeck. The lower helm, opposite the dining area, has a deck access door. The extended flybridge shelters the Sea Jet’s aft deck, and a transom garage houses a PWC. MTU 1,150hp V-drive diesels cruise at 24–25 knots. About 40 Sea Jets were built.
