HMY Yacht Sales Professional and Viking Yachts Specialist Rob Spano takes us aboard the epic Viking Yachts 92 Skybridge at the Viking Yachts Service center in Riviera Beach, Florida. This walkthrough will give you an in-depth and up-close look at the largest sportfish in the elite Viking Yachts fleet.

There are 3 different model variations of the Viking 92 and today the model HMY is showcasing is the 92 Skybridge. As you step into the extremely spacious cockpit of the 92 you will notice the Release Marine fighting chair and the transom box which doubles as a live well or a fish box.  There are several cockpit hatches that contain your refrigeration freezers, live wells and drink boxes. The comfortable and convenient mezzanine seating area offers air conditioning built into the back. Tackle drawer stations are located on either side. In the middle of the mezzanine is the engine room access hatch.  As we make our way towards the engine room we come through the mechanical room which has a battery box storage area, air conditioning compressors, the Eskimo ice maker, along with some of your refrigeration compressors. You’ll also notice the DC and AC panel or ETA screen, which has all of the touch screen breakers built-in. This compartment contains the crew quarters as well which includes a refrigeration unit, convection microwave oven, their own washer and dryer, private head and shower as well as two bunks.

Heading into the engine room you will immediately become aware of the huge amount of overhead space. This Viking 92 Skybridge is powered with MTU 16 cylinder M96 L Series which are rated at over 2,600 horsepower apiece. This sportfish will do over 36 knots. Next we have our Sea Recovery Aqua Matic water maker, easily accessible for changing filters when needed. PTO for your hydraulic unit there on either gear. We have toolboxes port and starboard - plenty of tool storage down here. Below deck is the housing for The central seawater cooling system which runs all of our cooling manifold systems onboard. Both pumps are plumbed in parallel so one strainer can be cleaned while the other one is still running operationally. You don't need to shut the cool water system off to the boat. Moving forward in the engine room, all the way on this forward bulkhead is our main aft tank which is a 1600 gallon tank out of the 4,000 total gallons that this boat carries. Up above you’ll find the central seawater control box.  Outboard is the water separator Racor fuel filter system membrane for our spot zero Dometic and also our main Racors for each engine. Additionally, you’ll see the frequency drive boxes for the central sea water pumps which regulates how much water the system needs to continue pressurized cooling of all the systems onboard. Moving outboard you’ll find the upgraded 55 kilowatt Cummins Onan generators one on either side port and starboard. A standard option on the Viking 92 is the AC power system which allows the boat to be compatible to any dock throughout the world.

One of the great things about The Viking Yacht Company is how they finish off the engine rooms. Everything in here is intelligently laid out which makes it easy to maintain – something that any crew operating this boat will surely appreciate.

Upon exiting the engine room back onto the cockpit you’ll head up the steps, greeted by a nice aft table setup for six. We have a bridge ladder with access to the bridge overhead air conditioning and lighting above, outdoor grill as well as a drop-down TV. As we go inside you'll see the Viking 92 salon is very spacious and provides plenty of room for entertaining. There's ample seating to portside with 2 L shaped couches. The couch does lift up for extra storage area. Many crews end up using this for tackle storage. There is a wet bar with an ice machine located just outward, a pop up TV is located in the cabinetry and the wine cooler is located here underneath the bar. There are five bar stools as well as a large dining room table that can sit at least eight people for dinner. It’s a good spot to enjoy the fresh catch of the day.

Not only is there a large pop-up TV in the sitting area, there's also an additional TV that enables the guests to watch the game while they're eating. The galley is a very spacious galley with six under counter Sub Zero refrigeration and freezer drawers as well as a stovetop and a trash compactor located here on the outside of the galley. As you can clearly see there's plenty of room for a gourmet chef to work in this kitchen. Forward of the dining room on the port side is the day head which enables the guests to use the head while out fishing without having to go down to the staterooms. Just forward of the galley is one of the ETA screens which is the touch screen breaker panel system that enables the captain or crew to access any breaker anytime throughout the boat.

Located down the stairway is the master stateroom. In this stateroom we have a full beam master, 24 feet in width, with a full king-size bed. There is a large screen TV located at the foot of the bed, a full walk-in closet which also houses the safe,  and a makeup vanity with the mirror built right into the cabinetry. The ensuite master head is a his-and-hers configuration and has access from port and starboard with a large shower in between. The master stateroom also includes the a sitting area where the owners can enjoy a morning coffee while looking out the window.

Going forward you will locate the guest staterooms. Up the stairs from the master immediately to port is a stateroom with a  full size bed which also has its own head and TV located at the bottom of the steps on the starboard side is a full size washer and dryer which is centrally located for all the cabins. Down the hallway on the starboard side we have a very spacious stateroom which has a queen bed as well as its own private head and shower with ample hanging storage - enough for his and hers. Moving forward down the hallway we have a linen closet to the right and then a guest room with side-by-side berths. This room also has its own TV and full head with shower. All the way forward we end up in the VIP stateroom  which features a queen bunk with a lot of natural light from the hatch above. On those nicer days guests can open the hatch to enjoy the sea breeze. The VIP stateroom also has a private head with a full shower.

Now, let’s head up to the enclosed and sky bridges. Our first stop is the 92’s enclosed bridge which offers an outdoor staircase but it also has an elegantly designed interior staircase. As we make our way up into the skybridge you can see the enclosed bridge doubles as another salon with all the spacious seating. It includes a large comfortable couch as well as two sub-zero drawers and a pop-up TV to starboard. On the forward part of the bridge we have the helm. The main screens are 5k EP screens that function as black boxes which enable us to switch between plotter, sounder, radar, camera systems - whatever needs to be pulled up at the moment. All of our other instruments are easily within arm's reach. Also at the helm you’ll find VHFs, radar controllers, Simrad chart plotters, Garmin controllers, autopilot, we have a Zenta joystick here from the MTU. We have our Sea Keeper displays as well as our backup controls for the MTUs. The Carlisle Finch searchlight and a FLIR infrared camera system. The drop-down drawers house your toggle switches that have some of your lights and also your port and starboard engine keys as well as your horn and then of course your VHF mics. Everything on the helm can be stored out of sight when you're not using it for a nice clean look. From this station we can make our way back here to the aft bridge where we also have another helm station. On the aft station we have all of our electronics that we have in our main helm station, duplicated out here so we can use all of our electronics while driving the boat from back here.

From this aft helm we can make our way up to the skybridge. As we enter the skybridge you can see exactly why the skybridge models are so popular. Here you have great, unobstructed views all the way around- from the bow to the cockpit. From the skybridge, you can see 360 degrees around the boat. All of the electronics are duplicated up here so there is full capability of all navigational equipment. Located in the drop-down box is another Garmin screen, a Garmin autopilot and a Furuno RD-33. Located in the teaser box above are a pair of Maya Epoch US9s. As we move forward on the skybridge you’ll notice full wraparound seating as well as two forward-facing bucket seats and also a refrigerated drink box and a washdown sink.
