Viking Yachts 37 Billfish Production In Full Swing
Updated from our initial Viking Yachts 37 Billfish post.
The Viking Yacht Company has broken ground with their innovative “day-boat” style sportfish, the Viking Yachts 37 Billfish and now the first six hulls are making their way down the production line. Viking Yachts has given us a sneak peak into their new Mullica production factory, an 88,000 square-foot satellite plant, where their expert shipbuilders are hard at work bringing these first half-dozen Viking 37 Billfish orders to life. The first unveiling of the highly-aniticipated 37 Billfish will be at the upcoming 21st Annual Viking VIP Boat Show Preview at the Viking Yacht Service Center in Riviera Beach, Florida, on February 3-4, 2017.
Some of the many exciting features of the Viking Yachts 37 Billfish include the center console helm station on the flybridge, a considerably spacious 84 square-foot cockpit with a transom live well and signature split mezzanine seating with built in tackle stowage and a bait freezer. This is a vessel that is as equally capable of fishing canyons as it is hooking up with sailfish. No matter what species you’ll be targeting or where, you will be well-equipped and ready to get the job done on the Viking 37 Billfish.
When you’ve caught your limit for the day, the Viking Yachts 37 Billfish invites you indoors where luxurious ammenities await enabling this vessel to also act as the perfect family cruiser. A convertible dinette and lounge provide shelter and relaxing room, and the lower helm station is an added plus for northern anglers wanting to extend their season, as well as southern anglers that prefer extra protection from the sun and tropical heat. But it is when you go belowdeck, that the 37 Billfish impresses with a spacious stateroom and an island queen bed forward, a fully equipped galley, a private head with a shower stall you’d expect to see on a 40-footer, and last but not least, Viking’s world-renown attention to detail with its striking teak joinery.
The activity at the Mullica facility is going strong with three 37 Billfish boats on one of the plant’s two production lines. Hull number one (pictured at very top) is only a few short days away the from installation of its flybridge. Below, two of Viking’s professional craftsmen work together to install the hull’s rub rail.
Hull number two is moving along on schedule for a February delivery and is currently in the mechanical and carpentry stages. Following these important phases, hull two will be topped off with its one-piece deckhouse assembly. This Viking 37 Billfish will show off a Haze Gray hull which you can notice a bit through its protective coverings.
Hull number three will be sporting the ever-popular Stars and Stripes Blue paint job. This 37 Billfish will be delivered in late February.
Hull number four is patiently waiting her turn but she soon will join the production line after the first 37 Billfish is launched in Mullica.
Peering into hull number five, we gain great insight into what normally remains unseen – the vessel’s internal structures, the stringers, egg-crating and the aft engineroom bulkhead.
Hull number six is taking shape below as Viking’s skilled Viglass team is in lamination mode.
Viking Yachts has proved time and time again that they know how to build legendary sportfish yachts with all the luxuries one could dream of, whether its the 92 Convertible, the new 37 Billfish or any size in between.
