Video Review of the New Cruisers Yachts 54 Cantius
Bridging the gap between the 48 and the 60 models the 54 Cantius, which recently premiered at Yachts Miami Beach in February 2016, is a welcomed addition to the Cruisers Yachts fleet. The on-trend layout of the 54 Cantius features its cockpit, salon, galley and helm all on the same deck level resulting in seamless entertaining and family cruising.

Forward on the aft deck are side passageways leading to the bow where you’ll find plush padded lounges perfect for sunbathing. In the forepeak is an anchor locker with a windlass below deck level. The anchor conveniently goes through the stem keeping mess off the deck. Stainless steel rails provide a stability to passengers as they make their way forward.
Entry into the spacious interior is made through a sliding glass door offset to starboard. This door is hinged with a power actuated window. The well-sized galley is aft to port, which makes serving meals outdoors a breeze. The 54 Cantius comes equipped with convenient appliances such as a four-burner cook top. Across from the forward end of the galley to starboard is a three-person sofa with a portable cocktail table. On the port side just ahead of the galley, the dinette for four is raised and has a wraparound lounge. The salon’s large retractable skylight gives owners a choice of enjoying the sea breeze and sun or closing it and cooling off with the AC.
Dual high-backed bucket seats at the helm give the captain and a companion comfortable perches during a cruise. The digital throttles and joystick controls are on top of the starboard gunwale with electronics screens for navigation and engine monitoring forward. Adequate space for stand up driving is a great feature for the captain.
Just aft of the foot of the cabin-deck stairs to starboard, the owner enters the master stateroom which has an extra-large feel to it, a plus for a boat of this size. Immediately to port is the head with separate toilet and shower areas. Just across from the head door is the walk-in closet. The island berth is on the boat’s centerline so vessel movements will have a minimum effect on sleep. In the 54 Cantius’ bow, the VIP stateroom has an island berth also on the centerline. There’s a full height hanging locker to port with additional storage to starboard. The en suite head has a private entry from the VIP stateroom and also an entry door from the third cabin with dual bunks.
At the stern the surface-level swim platform of the 54 Cantius offers plenty of space for watersports and is large enough to support a small tender or personal watercraft. Dual side steps lead to the aft deck where there is a lounge area consisting of a table and seating options.
The Cruisers Yachts 54 Cantius appeals to many as it is one of most modern-looking express cruisers on the water and can go most anywhere her captain can take her. If you're thinking the 60 Cantius might be too much boat, the 54 is your answer and is sure to put a smile on everyone's face.
