Viking 48 Sport Tower Overview

The Viking 48 Sport Tower is one of three open models introduced by Viking Yachts in 2018, the Open, Sport Coupe, and the ST. Based on the Viking 48 Convertible hull, the trio shares a full array of plush comfort and entertaining amenities.

“In planning and designing these new models, we looked at the Open Series, one that we’ve been in since the mid-1990s beginning with our 35, and saw an empty space we knew we could fill.”   -Viking President Patrick Healy

The DNA of the 48 Sport Tower is all Viking from the bottom up — an unmatched blend of world-class construction and sport fishing excellence. With her Palm Beach Towers hardtop and tuna tower the 48 Sport Tower projects an unmistakably aggressive profile.

Viking 48 Sport Tower Layout

Viking gave the 48 Sport Tower 124 square feet of cockpit space, more than enough for fishing and socializing. Stowage is ample throughout including a transom fish box, drink and bait coolers, recessed fish and stowage wells, and a split observation mezzanine. Space in the lazarette is provided for a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer. The command deck provides excellent visibility from the centerline helm complete with single lever electronic controls and state-of-the-art communication, entertainment, and navigation  systems installed by Viking subsidiary Atlantic Marine Electronics. For an excellent view of all the action, twin mezzanine seats overlook the cockpit.  Entering from a large sliding door just to port of the helm, the interior of the 48 Sport Tower includes two cabins and a single shared head. The master stateroom is forward and includes a queen-sized berth with storage on both sides. The guest stateroom is starboard and includes over/under bunks. The main salon comes with a large lounge area as well as an open concept galley with plenty of storage.

Viking 48 Sport Tower Performance

Powered with MAN diesels, the 48 Convertible will cruise at 30 knots with a top-end in the mid-30-knot range depending upon engine selection, load, sea, and other environmental factors. The hull is a modified V with no keel and a fine entry forward transitioning to about 12 degrees of deadrise at the transom.
