The 2021 Viking Lineup at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

The 2021 Viking Lineup at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

By HMY Contributor   October 1, 2021

The largest in-water boat show in the world, the 62nd annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show kicks off October 27-31, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. From yacht builders and designers to exotic cars and brokerage yachts, FLIBS has something for everyone. The five-day event will bring together hundreds of exhibitors from the yachting industry and beyond, across nearly 90 acres of outdoor exhibition space, set between the beach and Fort Lauderdale's vast network of waterways.

Among the nation’s largest dealer for Viking Yachts, HMY sales professionals will be on hand at the Viking display to assist clients in finding the yacht of their dreams. Located on dock D, nine new Viking models will be available for inspection including the 46' Billfish, 54’ Sport Coupe, 54' Convertible, 58' Convertible, 64' Convertible, 68' Convertible, 72’ Enclosed Bridge Skybridge, 80' Convertible, and 82' Motor Yacht.

Viking 46 Billfish

A runaway hit in the midsize convertible market, the 46 Billfish evokes the classic day boat charter designs of 1960's era South Florida builders. Instead of a salon, the Billfish offers a weather-protected deckhouse with lounge seating for the whole crew. When the weather turns bad the entire command deck can be enclosed and climate-controlled. Below, the galley is positioned at the foot of the companionway steps, where it’s easily accessed from the cockpit. A large head is opposite to port, and forward of that are adult-size over/under berths. The private bow stateroom has an island double berth and a large hanging locker. In the cockpit, mezzanine-style seats flank the centerline walk-through. Optional 800hp MAN diesels cruise the 46 Billfish at 32–34 knots (high 30s top)—impressive numbers for relatively small engines.

Viking 54 Sport Coupe

Based on the acclaimed Viking 54 Convertible introduced at the 2020 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, the 54 Sport Coupe illustrates Viking’s ability to produce new models by fusing a proven hull design with an entirely new topside configuration. Boasting an aggressive entry, the stylish wraparound windshield, and Palm Beach Towers hardtop and tuna tower, the 54 SC presents a striking profile. The 154 square-foot cockpit features twin mezzanine seating with cooler storage below, in-deck fish and storage boxes, a transom live well and a transom door with liftgate. The 54 SC’s raised bridge deck has a Palm Beach-style centerline helm flanked by a doublewide companion seat to port and a single seat to starboard. Below, the 17 ft. 8 in. beam offers impressive interior space with the standard two-stateroom or optional three-stateroom layout. The galley is to starboard with high-gloss walnut cabinets, a Sub-Zero fridge and freezer drawers, an electric cooktop, and a microwave/convection oven. Opposite the galley is an L-shaped settee with a high-low table. Viking’s Atlantic Marine Electronics can outfit the 54 with custom electronics, communications, and entertainment systems to make the boat, like every Viking yacht, turnkey ready for total owner satisfaction. Power choices are 1,400hp (standard) or 1,550hp MAN diesels.

 Viking 54 Convertible

The Viking 54's business end offers more space than any other boat in its class. The raised transom box can be used as a live well, fishbox, or general storage. An in-deck fishbox spans the starboard side, while the port side holds two storage compartments with the forward serving as an optional live well. A mounting plate is laminated into the sole for a fighting chair. A centerline lazarette hatch (available with power actuation) opens nearly 90 degrees for full viewability and access to the available Seakeeper as well as the steering, trim tabs, and drain pumps. Guests will be enamored with the raised observation mezzanine (pioneered by Viking) as they watch the action in comfort, shaded by the flybridge overhang. The three-stateroom two-head layout includes a master suite to port with a walkaround queen berth sided by nightstands. The forward stateroom comes standard with a queen berth, and the starboard stateroom has upper and lower berths. Both heads boast large walk-in showers with expansive glass enclosures. MAN V12 1,550hp diesels power the 54 Convertible to a cruising speed in the mid-30-knot range with a top end of 40-plus.

PRESS REVIEWS

“One of the key advancements Viking has made through the years is consistently producing large sportfishing boats that go fast, and the 54C is no different. With a pair of MAN V12 1400CRMs or 1550CRMs in the engine room, the boat’s designed to cruise in the mid-30-knot range and top out above 40 knots, a self-imposed benchmark for new Viking models.”

–Rudow’s FishTalk Magazine

“In the salon, Viking took extra care with the passageway, which is uninterrupted from the starboard-side cockpit door to the stairs. The design choice makes for a wide-open floor plan that takes full advantage of the yacht’s 17-foot, 8-inch beam.”

–Power & Motoryacht

“The 54's interior is finished with a processed honey teak that Viking has used for some time. Clearly, the boatbuilder has mastered its application; the consistent grain pattern has a flawless high-gloss finish. The soft goods and fixtures are in line with Viking's high standards.”

Viking 58 Convertible

The awesome Viking 58 Convertible is ideally suited for tournament fishing as well as long-distance cruising. The Viking 58 Convertible comes on strong with Viking’s signature walk-around center console flybridge helm and a 165-square-foot cockpit with a spacious observation mezzanine. The private and comfortable three-stateroom, two-head layout maximizes the vessel’s 17 ft. 9 in. beam, while the salon and galley arrangement provide the perfect mix of amenities for entertaining, relaxing, or dining.

Viking 64 Convertible

Viking’s newest model, the new 64 Convertible’s swept-back black-masked windshield, pronounced hull, and deckhouse feature lines and distinctive hull-side vents present an unmistakably Viking profile recognizable around the world. The result of thousands of hours on the tournament trail, the 180-square-foot cockpit is clean, streamlined, and maximizes freedom of movement, with easy access to storage and service areas. The centerline lazarette opens nearly 90 degrees for access to the available Seakeeper 26 gyro as well as the steering, trim tabs, and drain pumps. An aluminum backing plate is laminated into the cockpit sole for a fighting chair, rocket launcher, or table. The observation mezzanine is designed to keep guests cool and dry thanks to the flybridge overhang, as well as clear of the crew working in the cockpit. The interior features horizontal natural walnut throughout, available in a hi-gloss or satin finish. The master and forward staterooms each feature queen-size walk-around berths. The flybridge mirrors other new-generation Vikings with a space-saving streamlined walk-around center console.

Viking 68 Convertible

Viking continues its dominance of today’s sportfishing yacht industry with the Viking 68, a four-stateroom bluewater convertible available in open or enclosed bridge configurations. From the electrically operated salon door to the pop-up 49-inch TV to the day head with cockpit access, the 68 Convertible flows with luxury conveniences and amenities for comfortable onboard livability. Open to the salon, the 68’s walkaround island galley maximizes space while serving as a prime socializing area. Opposite the galley, a large dinette easily accommodates four adults. Below, the starboard master stateroom is nearly the full beam of the boat while the forward stateroom has a walkaround queen size bed that lifts to reveal a cavernous stowage compartment. The starboard and crew staterooms feature upper/lower berths, and each is served with a private head with a stall shower. (The crew quarters are accessed via a separate set of steps off the companionway.) Mezzanine seating overlooks the 68’s sprawling 186 square-foot cockpit, and the flybridge sports a center console helm providing superb visibility. The 68 Enclosed Bridge has a spiral staircase from the salon. MAN 1,945hp V12 diesels cruise at 35–36 knots (40 knots top).

Viking 72 Enclosed Bridge Sky Bridge

Fast, agile, and dripping with quality, the Viking 72 EB is proof that a purebred sportfishing machine can deliver both comfort and performance. The Enclosed Bridge salon mirrors the Open Bridge plan with the addition of a circular staircase to the enclosed bridge helm, which serves as a second salon with an L-shape sofa, a cocktail table, refrigeration, and an entertainment center. An open galley, an L-shape sofa, and crossover berths in the forward stateroom layout also are available. The day head near the entrance door to the salon is standard on both versions. An air-conditioned mezzanine overlooks the enormous 209 square feet cockpit. Seakeeper gyro stabilizers are a popular option. Viking designed the 72’s Awlgripped engine room so that all maintenance areas are easily available, and tools are accessible. The optional sky bridge offers fishing and cruising enthusiasts the best of both worlds with 360-degree visibility of an open elevated control station and the weather protection and the comfort of an enclosed bridge. A head-turning fishing machine, MTU 2,635hp 16V2000 engines cruise comfortably at 35 knots and produce a top speed in the low 40-knot range.

Viking 80 Convertible

A compelling mix of beauty and muscle, the 40-knot performance of the Viking 80C comes as a surprise in a boat this size. Entered through an electric sliding door on the cockpit mezzanine deck, a day head is immediately to starboard. To port is a lounge and coffee table, opposite a walnut cabinet with a 60-inch TV on an electric lift. Forward to starboard, a raised built-in dinette serves a dual purpose with rod stowage. Forward of the galley is a walk-in pantry, and three barstools line the outboard galley counter. Below, there are five staterooms including a full-beam master with a king-size bed. The port and forward staterooms have walkaround queen beds, and the two starboard cabins have upper/lower berths. The 216 square-foot cockpit features a transom door, freezer, tackle, and general storage space, live well, fish wells, and an ice chest. Additionally, the 80 Enclosed Bridge model also can be ordered with an open Sky Bridge.

Viking 82 Motor Yacht

A cockpit version of the Viking 75 Motor Yacht, Viking 82 Motor Yacht transitions from an opulent weekend cruiser one day to a tournament-class yacht fisherman the next. With the cockpit space of a large convertible, the 82 Motor Yacht has the real estate you and your comrades will need to fish all day long. There's plenty of room for relaxing, too, in this versatile deck design that features an observation mezzanine and aft-deck dinette with a U-shaped settee. Below, four stunningly appointed staterooms balance elegance and practicality. A king bed anchors the full-beam master suite, and each of the three guest staterooms has a private head with a walk-in shower. The 82’s huge open bridge layout includes a centerline helm forward flanked with casual seating areas. Abaft the helm, luxuries abound with a family size dinette and a wet bar with refrigeration, sink, and an electric grill. Further aft is a sun pad and a teak planked staircase to the lower after deck. Outfitted with custom navigation and entertainment systems provided by Viking subsidiary Atlantic Marine Electronics, the new Viking 82 awaits your inspection.
