DEBUTING AT FLIBS 2019: OKEAN YACHTS 50 X
One of the most talked about moments at FLIBS 2019 will no doubt be the debut of the latest groundbreaking yacht from Brazilian builder, OKEAN Yachts – the 50 X. All-new for the 2020 model year and available to order now through HMY, OKEAN’s exclusive North American representative, the OKEAN Yachts 50 X is the Explorer version of their 50' Flybridge Motor Yacht, which debuted to considerable acclaim at FLIBS 2017 and literally stopped visitors in their tracks on the dock at the HMY display. The 50 X is built on a variation of the 50’ Flybridge hull (which has been very well received) with a focus on comfort, safety, speed, and fuel efficiency. She is designed to navigate with a larger volume of equipment and fuel on board; she’s also a little lighter and faster, suiting her to longer trips and more exploring. These tweaks come from OKEAN and HMY continuing to listen to what customers want and not being afraid to experiment. Hearing that people wanted to spend more time out on the water for family time, diving trips, and jaunts up the east coast on these gorgeous vessels, OKEAN responded with changes such as larger Volvo engines and multiple exterior and interior layouts to accommodate various lifestyles. Some things did not change, however, such as OKEAN’s signature “Open Up Your World” folding balcony design, the use of all American components (making any service or repair a breeze), and the lack of vinyl (the only vinyl on the boat is the headliner; the rest is all hardwood and wood veneer. The stunning results are some of the world’s finest and most distinctive pleasure craft. CONTINUOUS INNOVATION FOR TODAY’S YACHT OWNERS OKEAN is ushering in a new generation of yachts perfectly suited for today’s owners that prefer luxury, innovation, and versatility, as well as quality, style, and being one with nature while on-board. Taking action on customers’ feedback, the 50 X is designed to be even more versatile by offering additional exterior deck and lounge space for entertaining, a unique salon and galley, multiple accommodation configurations, and more power. Deck The 50 X deck – all teak – features a shorter foredeck, resulting in more deck space for you and your guests to enjoy. The folding balconies add even more room, expanding the livable deck space from 14' 7" to 20' 7" overall width. Available options will include a davit on the aft deck for a jet ski or tender and a stable and solid Bimini top that covers a large part of the deck. Also, additional seating arrangements are available.
Salon & Galley
OKEAN’s designers moved the salon forward about three feet, resulting in the shorter foredeck and increased main deck space.
The large and extremely open salon and aft-facing galley area provide guests a feeling of total freedom and sense of being one with nature while on-board.
Salon amenities include a large L-shaped sofa that extends up towards the lower helm station, a dining table, and a retractable flat screen TV.
The galley will be offered in three different layouts – outside, forward, or inside – allowing flexibility in designing the yacht to fit your lifestyle.
Continuing to deliver the bright ambiance throughout the interior are expansive windows on the main deck providing 180-degree views from nearly all vantage points.
Accommodations
Versatility is also offered with below deck accommodations. The standard option is a 3-stateroom layout with two full heads, including a full beam master with ensuite head.
There's also a 4-stateroom configuration and the option to add in bunks, along with ample storage, making the 50 X perfect for people that want to cruise or go on diving trips for a week at a time, or more.
Engines
OKEAN and HMY decided to upgrade from the Volvo 600 Series to the 700 Series, adding power without losing hull efficiency.
The 50 X cruises at 23-24 knots fully loaded and tops out around 28 knots.
