By HMY Contributor   July 17, 2017

Stepping into the industry spotlight in 2014 at her Yachts Miami Beach debut, the Princess Yachts S72 was the first model to be rolled-out in Princess' revolutionary S-Class line. The launch of the S72 signified a new breed of sports yacht demonstrating the perfect combination of an express cruiser and a flybridge yacht - the ultimate hybrid. In 2015, the S72 gained recognition as winner of Motorboat & Yachting Magazine's Motor Boat Awards in the over 55' category, a testament to this yacht's many incredible qualities. As with any Princess model, the head-turning Princess Yachts S72 was crafted with the highest-quality construction and unparalleled attention to detail making her an ideal vessel for even the most discerning yacht buyer. Her outward appearance is visually stunning with sleek, aggressive exterior lines that immediately grab your attention. Once you're on board the yacht, she will continue to impress on all fronts.

A walkthrough of the Princess Yachts S72 reveals just how luxuriously appointed both her indoor and outdoor spaces are. A large, electrically operated sunroof and 360 degree panoramic views inside the expansive deck salon set the tone for the bright and open atmosphere found throughout the vessel's interior. Flowing seamlessly into the cockpit area from stainless steel framed doors, the deck salon includes plush appointments such as two comfortable designer sofas, a coffee table, wet bar and entertainment center.

The lower helm station is forward of the salon and features two comfortable captain's chairs, a full-suite of navigational and engine instrumentation and a convenient captain's door leading out to the side deck. Positioned next to the helm there is a circular dinette area for additional seating and dining space as well as steps leading below deck.

The first stop once below is the professional-grade galley with a full-height fridge/freezer, dishwasher, an abundance of storage and a 4-zone ceramic cook-top. For overnights, the Princess S72 features a three-cabin layout which includes a full beam, ensuite owner's stateroom with a large double bed, a dressing table and chair, sofa, 40" TV and tons of natural light from the angled hull-side windows. Guests are accommodated in either the forward or starboard staterooms, both of which are ensuite. An ensuite crew cabin offers twin berths.

In the cockpit, the Princess Design Studio smartly included a tender garage, able to accommodate a 3.9m tender plus an array of water of toys. Above the garage, guests can soak up the sun on the vast sunpad area or enjoy a cocktail in the ample u-shaped seating area accompanied by a full wet bar. The sportbridge is accessed by a contemporary stairwell located just outside the salon doors. Up here, guests are offered uninterrupted ocean views, ample space and chic design - making other in-class flybridges' pale in comparison. The upper helm position features repeat navigation equipment including radar/chartplotter and engine instrumentation. For guests, the amenities include a U-shaped seating area with folding teak table, L-shaped seating that converts to sunpad, and a wet bar with electric barbeque.

From a performance standpoint, the Princess Yachts 72 handles just as beautifully as she looks. Fitted with twin Caterpillar or MAN engines ranging from 1622hp to 1800hp, she can be expected to deliver speeds just over 37 knots, depending on certain variables. The vessel's proven, lightweight deep-V hull offers class-leading ride quality, superb agility and a most efficient cruising range.
