Viking 80 Convertible (TBD) 2024 “2024 Viking 80C”

The Viking 80 is a powerful example of Viking’s dominance in the semi-custom sportfish segment. A favorite by many, this battlewagon is prepared for any tournament or cruising destination. Upon coming aboard, the 217 square foot cockpit that can be centered with the optional Release Marine Trillion Series or Bluewater fighting chair ensures that numerous anglers can be a part of the fishing action without any interference. The cockpit that can be outfitted with optional teak packages can house numerous options, including a Seakeeper 35 located below a single hydraulic actuated hatch, and a transom livewell consisting of a window and light. Forward of the cockpit houses an expansive mezzanine area with optional Ultraleather seating that can be air conditioned, housing for a bait freezer system, a dump area for the optional Eskimo Ice Chipper system, and centerline access to the Engine Room. The Engine Room illustrates Viking’s strong engineering capabilities. Accessing through a watertight door that helps reduce the decibel levels in the cockpit, the Awlgrip white engine room houses some of the latest mechanical components, including a pair of optional MTU M96Ls rated at 2,635 HP each, an optional sonar tube for a sonar omnidirectional sonar system, and ElectroSea Clearline and ElectroStrainer systems that will help keep all water and refrigerate systems clear and free of marine growth. 

Walking into the salon from the cockpit, owners and guests will find themselves in a world of luxury due to the space that is provided from the 80’s 21.5” beam. Immediately to starboard houses the large day head and to port a U-shaped Ultraleather sofa with optional Dewberry styled storage system. Forward of the 65” TV that is housed inside of the starboard pop-up entertainment system is the raised dinette to port with pull out tackle storage below. To port is the large and luxurious u-shaped galley configuration that houses most amenities needed to make the finest of meals. Past the pantry area and down the companionway contains the luxury accommodations, including a 5 stateroom, 5 head layout. The 80 is a step above the rest, as it is the one of two in the model line to offer a true full beam master stateroom below the other staterooms.

 The flybridge on the Viking 80 is a captain’s dream. The captain will have excellent visibility at the centerline helm console as he/she steps on the optional teak step-up platform. The dash and piano hinged side radio boxes can house numerous electronics packages from Viking’s subsidiary company AME electronics. Overhead the captain will find a teaser reel box for the optional Miya-Epoch teaser reels, as well as an additional drop-down electronics box, allowing for the captain to be able to face aft while trolling. Forward of the helm provides ample storage space underneath of the side benches, and freezer space under the plush forward lounge area. The 80 Viking is an angler’s dream!

Like all new Vikings, the 80 Convertible hones its blue-water DNA from its stable mates. The sleek styling showcases an impeccable sheer line with nine feet of freeboard forward tapering to slightly more than three feet at the stern, a lively reflection of the aggressive profiles of its recent brethren including the 92 and 62 Convertibles.The hull’s sharper entry merges with a higher forward chine designed to divert spray downward when ripping through head seas. Convex hull sections add curvature and form to the refined running surface, while a quad of molded running strakes accentuate lateral tracking and maneuverability. Deadrise at the transom is 12.5 degrees and the beam is carried well aft providing exceptional volume, buoyancy and balance, a deft combination, which comfortably accommodates additional fuel, and the weight of a gyro stabilizer. Powered with tier 3 MTU Series 2000 V16 M96L engines each developing 2,635 mhp with Blue Vision controls and display monitors, our tank testing calculations indicate a top speed in excess of 40 knots with an effortless high 30 knot cruise.

Inviting accommodations include five generously appointed staterooms, including a full beam master suite with a king size walk-around bed. The port and forward staterooms have walk-around queen beds. Two starboard staterooms have upper and lower berths, and are spacious due to the use of sliding entrance doors which maximize interior space. Every stateroom has a large head and fiberglass shower stall.
