Description

Mary South is a Phil Bolger design 40 foot mini-expedition trawler built in 1990 by Melville Traber in Dayville Connecticut.  It has recently experienced a complete refit by and overhaul of the entire vessel by Kingfisher Marine at Clinton Yacht Haven, Clinton, CT

The vessel features a butterfly hatch built by Scaranos in Albany NY that lights up the salon area which is wood floored with a gas fireplace and built-in galley.  The forward stateroom has twin bunks and a head.  The aft stateroom has a center-line queen bed and a private head and shower.  The pilot house is spacious and open with excellent visibility.

The stand up engine room has plenty of room to work on critical systems.  It is lighted naturally through decorative prisms in the salon floor and via new led lighting.  Water and diesel tanks have been inspected, cleaned and re-painted as part of the recent refit.  

Rebuilt Ford Nor’east engine.  

30amp Shore Power with galvanic isolator, Xantrex inverter charger and new bank of batteries.  Electric wiring replaced to ABYC standards.  Simple on/off switching with manual parallel of engine starting battery and house battery bank.  House battery bank includes 6 new Interstate deep cycle group 31 batteries.  Engine starting battery is new Interstate cranking group 31.
