In production for only a few years before Wellcraft turned their attention to fishing boats only, the 3300 Martinique was the company’s economy-class entry in the highly competitive midsize sportboat market. The Martinique’s inboard power is notable—most other express boats this size come with sterndrive power. Notable, too, is her deep-V hull that delivers an exceptional rough-water ride. The interior follows the standard midcabin approach seen in most of today’s family cruisers with berths for six, a capable galley area (with lots of counter space), decent storage, and a compact head with sink and shower. Privacy curtains separate the fore and aft sleeping areas from the main cabin, and two overhead hatches and four opening ports provide adequate cabin ventilation. The cockpit is arranged with a sun lounge opposite the helm, a U-shaped settee aft, wet bar, and transom door. Service access to the engines is very good, and a walk-through windshield provides access to the bow. On the downside, the so-so finish is unimpressive. Among several engine options, twin 310hp V-drive MerCruisers cruise at 20 knots (28–30 knots top).
