Like all Viking convertibles, the 58C is a top-tier luxury sport fishing yacht with the emphasis on performance. This is the second 58-foot convertible in Viking’s history — the original Viking 58 (1991–2000) was a huge sales success with 110 sold. The beautifully appointed interior of the 58C shares many similarities with her larger siblings, the Viking 68C and 72C. Entering from the cockpit, an L-shaped sofa is to port while a flat-screen TV rises from the starboard entertainment center. The dinette is opposite the galley with Sub-Zero refrigeration, Corian counters and walnut cabinetry. There are three staterooms and two heads below including a portside master with athwartship queen bed. The 58’s centerline helm on the flybridge mirrors other Viking designs with twin recessed electronics boxes on either side. For tournament-level pursuits, the 58C's cockpit has 165 square feet of teak-covered fishing space, the largest in its class. A transom livewell, in-deck fish boxes and a transom door with lift gate are standard. A Seakeeper gyrostabilizer is mounted under the cockpit sole. Optional 1,600hp MTU diesels cruise at 35–36 knots and deliver 40+ knots top.

The Viking 58 is an updated version of the earlier Viking 57 Convertible (1989–91) with a sharper entry, additional bow flare, and a redesigned transom. Her modified-V hull retains the same wide 18-foot beam as her predecessor which accounts for her spacious interior and cockpit dimensions. Viking employed several three-stateroom, galley-up floorplans in the 58 during her production years, all with an amidships owner’s suite and three full heads. The massive cockpit includes a transom door, in-deck fish box, direct engine room access, and a molded tackle center. The 58’s meticulously arranged engine room ranks among the best to be found in her day. An enclosed flybridge model with salon access became optional in 1995, and updates in 1997 included restyled frameless windows and an extended flybridge. Additional features include high-gloss teak interior joinery, home-size galley with upright refrigerator and Corian counters, and a huge flybridge with rod storage and seating for a small crowd. An extremely popular model, 110 of these yachts were built. MAN 1,200hp engines cruise at 28 knots (31–32 knots top). MAN 1,400hp diesels cruise at close to 30 knots (33–34 top).
