Viking Yachts 57 Convertible

A state-of-the-art boat when she was introduced in 1989, the Viking 57 Convertible owes her lasting popularity with anglers and cruisers alike to her muscular styling, spacious accommodations, and impressive performance. She rides on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with a wide beam and shallow keel for directional stability. Below decks, the deckhouse makes full use of the hull’s 18-foot beam with a spacious salon that boasts an L-shaped convertible sofa (with rod storage), a built-in entertainment center, wet bar and an L-shaped dinette opposite the galley. The master stateroom in this layout is forward rather than amidships, and each stateroom has its own head. The tournament-size cockpit of the 57 is fitted with molded tackle centers, transom door, teak covering boards, and direct access to the spacious, standup engine room. Additional features include wide side decks, a large flybridge with a well-designed helm console, and a bow pulpit. The only engines ever used in the Viking 57 were 1,080hp 12V92 Detroits. A good performer, she’ll cruise at 28 knots and reach a top speed of around 32 knots. Fast and agile—but a little wet when the seas pick up—a total of 29 Viking 57s were built.
