The 8.6 Meter Mid-Cabin was the smallest of Trojan’s series of Euro-style express boats the company introduced throughout the 1980s. With her bold hull graphics and streamlined profile, the 8.6 was a high-style boat in her day. Built on low-deadrise hull, her midcabin interior is arranged in the conventional manner with berths for six. The main cabin has a convertible dinette and a full galley, and both fore and aft sleeping areas are fitted with double berths. While the dark decor of the 8.6 is dated by today’s high-glitz standards, the floorplan makes good use of the boat’s wide beam. On deck, the single-level cockpit is set up with a triple-wide elevated helm seat, removable bench seating at the transom, and a centerline transom gate. Twin hatches in the cockpit sole provide good access to the engines, and visibility from the helm is excellent in all directions. A fiberglass radar arch was a popular option. Note that the side decks are narrow. Additional features include plenty of cabin storage, a swim platform, and a bow pulpit. Standard 260hp sterndrives cruise the Trojan 8.6 Mid-Cabin Express at 25 knots and reach a top speed in the mid 30s.
