Tollycraft Yachts
26 Sedan
1973–87
Tollycraft’s all-time best-selling boat, the 26 Sedan attracted a loyal following over the years due to her roomy interior and rugged all-fiberglass construction. At 9,000 lbs., the Tollycraft 26 is no lightweight for her size and she has the ride of a bigger boat. Inside, the straightforward cabin accommodations are practical, if somewhat Spartan. Note that the decor was updated from wood-grain mica to teak in 1982. With the dinette converted, there are berths for four adults. There’s a standup head, and visibility from the lower helm is excellent. The cabin windows in the 26 Sedan are very large (note that the extruded aluminum window frames were upgraded to anodized frames in 1977), and the interior is surprisingly open for such a small boat. There’s seating for five on the flybridge—far too much up-top weight for a small boat to carry with any degree of safety, especially in choppy waters. Additional features include a large cockpit, relatively wide side decks, and a swim platform. Most Tollycraft 26s were equipped with a single V-drive 255hp inboard gas engine. The cruising speed is around 16 knots and the top speed is 23–24 knots.
