Tiara Yachts
5000 Open
2002–03
A true dual-purpose yacht, the Tiara 5000 Open can be fitted out as a tournament-level fishing machine or a feature-laden family cruiser. Lots of boats promise that kind of user flexibility but few manufacturers have been more successful in this realm than Tiara. Heavily built on a modified-V hull with a wide 15-foot, 9-inch beam, prop pockets, and a solid fiberglass bottom, the elegant two-stateroom, two-head interior of the Tiara 5000 Open is an impressive display of quality teak (or cherry) joinery, hardwood flooring, and rich designer fabrics. Anglers can choose a full tackle center with freezer, and cruisers can add a factory hardtop, foldaway transom seat, and swim platform. Below decks, the This is a very traditional and elegant interior—a little confining—but finished to a very high standard. Additional features include space for a washer/dryer, cockpit engineroom access, wet bar, a power center windshield section, and a central vacuum system. A premium boat, 800hp Cats cruise the 500 Open at 26–27 knots and reach a top speed of 30+ knots. Six of these yachts are reported to have been built.
