Few domestic builders can match Tiara’s reputation for engineering and quality, and fewer still exceed the company when it comes to timeless design. The 3500 Open is a case in point: hardly revolutionary in concept, she’s a beaujpgully crafted express cruiser whose classic styling has held up well over the years. Built on a modified-V hull with a wide 13'3" beam, prop pockets reduce draft and shaft angles. Primarily a cruising boat, the large cockpit of the 3500 Open provides an excellent platform for fishing as well. A transom door, wet bar, and in-deck fish box are standard and the entire bridge deck rises on hydraulic rams for access to the motors. Below deck, the spacious single-stateroom interior of the 3500 Open can only be described as lush, with handcrafted teak joinery, leather upholstery, and a full teak and holly cabin sole. Additional features include an L-shaped lounge opposite the helm, aft-facing cockpit seats, an electric windshield vent, an integral swim platform, and a bow pulpit. Standard big-block gas inboards will provide a cruising speed of 18 knots (29–30 knots top), and optional 370hp Cummins diesels cruise at 25–26 knots and reach a top speed of around 30 knots.
