30 Flybridge

1997–2006

Skipjack 30 Flybridge
The Skipjack 30 Flybridge is durable, no-frills West Coast fisherman whose rugged construction, practical layout, and reasonable price appealed to many family boaters with an eye for value. Like all Skipjacks, she’s a well finished boat and her large cockpit, sturdy rails, and wide side decks will find instant appeal with experienced anglers. With the V-drive engines aft, beneath the cockpit sole, the interior of the Skipjack 30 is set low in the hull which keeps the center of gravity down—a big plus in a small offshore fisherman. A sliding glass door opens into the cabin, which, with its large windows and light oak trim, seems open and very spacious. In keeping with today’s contemporary layouts, a stateroom privacy bulkhead is omitted in favor of a more open and unobstructed salon. The flybridge has the helm forward with a wraparound console and excellent visibility. A big electrically operated hatch in the cockpit sole provides easy access to the motors, and a bait tank and fish box are built into the transom. Among several engine choices, twin 315hp Yanmar diesels cruise efficiently at 24–25 knots and reach a top speed of 30 knots.
