An upmarket version of original Sea Ray 290 Bowrider (200104), the stylish 290 Select EX combines an appealing mix of sports-car performance, luxury-class comfort, and head-turning sex appeal. Built on a modified deep-V hull with a wide 9'8"" beam and a solid fiberglass bottom, the interior of the Sea Ray 290 offers an enormous amount of entertaining and seating space. At least two seating plans were available: one with a fold-down companion seat, and another with swivel helm seats. A refreshment center includes a wet bar with bottle rack, trash bin, and optional refrigerator, and two dining tables can be stowed when underway. The sporty burlwood dash is a plus, and a lockable head/change compartment in the portside helm console comes with a freshwater sink and pullout shower. As with most bowriders, removable cushions convert the entire forward seating area into a vast sun pad. A power engine compartment hatch is standard. Note the swim platform storage lockers. An extended swim platform was a popular option. A single 375hp MerCruiser I/O tops out at 40 knots; twin 260hp Mercs reach 45+ wide open.
