42 Hardtop Express

2003–12

Sabre Yachts 42 Hardtop Express
A very successful model, the Sabre 42 Express (called the Sabreline 42 until 2007) embodies the graceful styling, luxurious accommodations, and high-quality construction common to all Sabre yachts. Built on a composite hull with a wide beam and prop pockets, the focal point of the 42 Express is her semi-enclosed pilothouse with its Stidd helm and companion seats, folding teak table, and full wet bar. Below, the Sabre’s traditional two-stateroom interior is an elegant blend of satin-finished cherry cabinetry, posh leather upholstery, and a beaujpgul teak and holly sole. The forward owner’s stateroom was offered with an island queen berth or V-berths, and the starboard guest stateroom contains a double berth. Both cabins share a common head with a circular shower stall. On the downside, the galley is a bit small for a boat this size. A transom door, teak decks, and foldaway transom seat are standard. Yanmar or Cummins 500hp inboard diesels cruise the Sabre 42 Hardtop at 22–23 knots (high 20s top). Newer models with 440hp Cummins diesels matched to Zeus pod drives and Joystick controls cruise at 24–26 knots.
