A well-built boat with appealing lines, the Australian-built Riviera 34 Convertible enjoyed a good deal of popularity in the U.S. market following her introduction in 1997. Hull construction is solid fiberglass with collision bulkhead forward and watertight compartments below. A wide 13'4"" beam provides good stability and a very comfortable interior. The layout of the Riviera 34 is arranged with the galley down, separated from the salon by a serving counter. Opening cabin windows provide excellent ventilation, and a step-down galley is overlooked by a serving counter. (Note the storage compartment under the galley sole.) The private forward stateroom has an island berth, storage below, and large hanging lockers to port and starboard. The head is accessible from either the companionway or the stateroom and is equipped with a VacuFlush toilet and separate stall shower. A fully instrumented lower helm with swivel helm chair was optional. Cockpit features include sink and freezer, in-deck fish boxes, transom door, and engine room access. Topside, the bridge area is designed to seat four comfortably. A well-conceived boat, Cummins 330hp diesels cruise the Riviera 34 in the mid 20s (28–30 knots top).
