Regulator
26 Express
1993–98
The rugged good looks of the Regulator 26 are a good deal more than just skin deep—superb craftsmanship, a great open-water ride and long list of standard equipment make her one of the premium trailerable fishermen her size on today’s market. Heavily built on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with a sharp entry, reverse chines and a single-piece grid-type stringer system for structural support, the overall fit-and-finish is well above average. The single-level cockpit is designed for serious fishing and comes with an in-deck 50-gallon baitwell, two transom bait boxes, underseat coolers, and in-deck lockable rod storage for up to six full-size rods. Molded steps lead up to the wide side decks, and a high bow rail makes the foredeck (which is completely covered with nonskid) a safe platform to work. With only a pair of pedestal chairs forward, the cockpit will easily accommodate four anglers. The interior is basic with berths for two, a standup head and a small galley. Offered with outboard or single sterndrive power, a pair of 200hp Yamahas cruise at 28 knots (around 40 knots top), and a 216hp Volvo diesel I/O will cruise at 25 knots (about 30 knots top). Just over 40 were built.
