A rugged boat with a well-arranged cockpit and generous cabin accommodations, the Rampage 28 is a big boat for her length thanks to a wide 11-foot beam. Shes built on a fully cored hull with a sweeping sheer, modest transom deadrise, and a relatively sharp entry. Her wide beam gives the 28 Sportsman the look and feel of a much bigger boat. About half of her length is given over to cockpit space where theres plenty of room for a full-size fighting chair in addition to a standard livewell and transom door. Below, the cabin is clean and attractive with enough teak woodwork and trim to keep things from looking too plain. There are berths for three (the portside backrest of the dinette/settee swings up to create the third berth), and an enclosed standup head compartment and compact galley complete the accommodations. Separate engine boxes below the helm and companion seats provide good access to the motors. A transom door was standarda feature seldom found in a 28-foot boat. A good performer, twin 260hp gas inboards cruise the Rampage 28 Sportsman at 2224 knots (30+ wide open).
