Princess Yachts
V39
2012–17
For many, the Princess V39 is an inspired design, the perfect combination of size, style and layout. Tinted hull windows, raked black mullions and flush deck hatches/skylights add to her sleek lines while a huge sunroof floods the forward cockpit in natural light. Stepping on board via the hydraulic swim platform, a single step leads to the roomy cockpit where a huge C-shaped seating area to port surrounds a teak table. Opposite, a large wet bar with a fridge and sink is perfect for open-air entertaining. At the helm, individual captain and navigator seats are flanked to port by a short settee. Below decks, the V39 doesn’t break new ground in the layout department. Rather, it refines things in a way befitting the Princess brand. The cherrywood interior features an open-plan galley with Avonite counters and U-shaped dinette to port. A guest cabin with island berth is forward while the aft cabin has twin berths, big hull windows, and a handy lounge. The V39’s single head compartment has a separate stall shower. There is full standing headroom throughout the salon and aft into the mid-cabin. Volvo 330hp DuoProp sterndrives cruise at 28–30 knots (mid 30s top).
